Gambar Wallpaper Hp Keren. The AI community often prefers to submit to conferences (ACL, ICLR, etc. Context: In Indonesia, submitting articles to journals, especially those indexed by Scopus, is often a requirement for graduation or promotion.
This has led to a proliferation of subpar/predatory publications, as people are motivated primarily by fulfilling this requirement. Here's why: I've co-advised talented Indonesian students which IMO could totally publish in these top conferences. But because of the "must-publish-to-graduate" rule, they lose confidence and opt for playing it safe. Even though it's "just" a workshop, you're presenting alongside other top-tier researchers who also attend these conferences.
If Indonesian researchers want to put their name on the AI map, we really should start aiming high! But I think top-tier conferences are still better than publishing a lot of subpar-quality journals just for the sake of graduation or promotion credits. TL;DR: The new system in Indonesia that removes the journal requirement for graduation/promotion is great. It should encourage researchers to focus on quality and aim for top-tier conferences/journals without worrying about graduation requirement.
